Hinjawadi, Pune: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has taken action against unauthorized hoardings in Hinjewadi. The drive was carried out on Monday, April 13, following strict orders from Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari.
Officials said the campaign is part of a larger effort to remove illegal structures and improve regulation in the area. The encroachment removal department has now increased its action against such violations.
During the operation, a large hoarding structure built on around 1,250 square feet in Survey No. 206 at Hinjewadi (Mulshi) was demolished. The iron frame of the hoarding was found to be set up without proper approval. PMRDA confirmed that no prior permission had been taken for installing the structure.
Authorities have also warned that strict legal action will be taken against those who put up hoardings without permission. As per rules, offenders can face jail time from one month to three years and a fine of up to Rs 5,000.
Officials have asked hoarding owners to remove illegal structures on their own. If they fail to do so, PMRDA will take action and recover the cost of removal along with penalties.
Himmat Kharade, in charge of the encroachment department, said people should act quickly and avoid further action. He added that those without permission should complete the approval process at the earliest.
Metropolitan Commissioner Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari also made it clear that such drives will continue across the PMRDA area. He said strict action will be taken in the coming days if rules are not followed.
