According to a report, a 48-year-old former employee alleged that she faced prolonged mental harassment at her workplace and was repeatedly pressured to marry and change her religion.
The woman made the allegations during an event organised by the Pune Union of Working Journalists (PUWJ).
She claimed that while working at the company’s Hinjawadi office, a female colleague repeatedly encouraged her to undergo religious conversion. According to her, the colleague suggested that changing her religion would bring financial benefits and improve her lifestyle.
The former employee alleged that the pressure began in April and continued for several months.
“Since April, a woman who worked under me had been pressuring me to undergo religious conversion. She told me that if I underwent conversion, I would get more money and it would enhance the quality of my life,” she was quoted as saying.
The woman further claimed that even after refusing the proposal, the situation did not improve. She alleged that she faced continued harassment at the workplace, which eventually forced her to resign from her position.
The allegations have sparked concerns about workplace safety and the treatment of women employees in corporate environments.
The issue has gained attention because it comes shortly after a separate case involving the Nashik unit of TCS. In that matter, complaints alleged that women employees faced sexual harassment and that some were pressured to convert their religion.
The TCS case came to light on March 25 when a 23-year-old employee filed a police complaint accusing a colleague of rape on the false promise of marriage.
An FIR was subsequently registered at Deolali Camp Police Station on March 26, 2026. The case included charges related to rape, attempted religious conversion, and hurting religious sentiments.
Authorities have not yet announced any official findings regarding the latest allegations made by the former Pune IT employee.
