In the first case, a man from Ravet and his friends were allegedly cheated of more than Rs 1.5 crore after being promised cars at heavily discounted prices.
According to police, the fraud took place between October 28, 2024 and May 7, 2026. A complaint has been filed at Hinjewadi Police Station by 35-year-old Dattatray Ramchandra Gade.
Police have registered a case against Pratik Babulal Mundada. Investigators said the accused allegedly convinced the complainant that he could arrange cars at lower prices and collected money from him at different times.
The accused also reportedly lured the complainant’s friends by offering a 20 percent discount on car purchases. In total, the alleged fraud amount has reached Rs 1,50,84,817.
Police said the matter is currently under detailed investigation.
In another case, a 58-year-old man from Rahatani was allegedly cheated of Rs 26 lakh in an online trading scam linked to share market investments.
The incident reportedly took place between November 20, 2025 and May 5, 2026 at Dwarka Suncrest Apartment in Rahatani. A complaint has been registered at Kalewadi Police Station.
Based on the complaint, police have filed a case against Mangalam Ganesh, manager Roop Bhutra and their associates.
Officials said investigations are underway in both cases. Police have also urged people to stay alert while making investments or large purchases and advised citizens to verify the background of individuals and companies before transferring money.
