The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) will develop the six roads. The administration aims to complete the land acquisition process by October 15 and secure possession of around 60% to 70% of the required land before starting the tendering process.
The proposed roads include a 1.5-km stretch from Mahalunge to Hinjewadi, a 2.4-km road from Thakar Vasti to Maan Gavthan and a 3.5-km stretch from Surya Hospital to Thakar Vasti.
The other projects include a 7.1-km road from Urawade to Hinjewadi Phase 3, a 3.93-km route connecting Nande and Lavale, and a 1.5-km road between Nande and Maan.
The administration is also focusing on traffic bottlenecks at Bhumkar Chowk and Ravet. Dudi has directed civic agencies to widen roads, repair potholes and remove obstructions to improve traffic movement.
PMRDA will take further decisions after physical inspections at Wipro Chowk, the Punawale-Marunji connecting road and roads running alongside the local canal.
A proposal is also being prepared to use land along the canal or land under the irrigation department for road development. The proposal is expected to be prepared by September 30 and will then be sent to the concerned canal board for approval.
PMRDA Commissioner Abhijit Chaudhari said the projects are being expedited, with priority given to road development, traffic management and other essential infrastructure works within the planned timelines.
To speed up land acquisition, the collectorate will organise village-wise guidance camps for farmers and landowners in Maan, Marunji and Hinjewadi.
Officials will explain the land acquisition process, including transferable development rights (TDR), rules for residential use within a two-kilometre radius and compensation available to landowners who surrender their land.
The collector also announced infrastructure measures for the Chakan industrial area. PMRDA, the Public Works Department and the Zilla Parishad have been directed to immediately repair potholes on roads connecting Chakan, Talegaon, Borate Vasti and Bhosari.
A detailed survey of Chakan Chowk and other major intersections will also be conducted. The aim is to prepare a revised traffic plan focusing on vehicle movement and pedestrian safety. The study will examine pedestrian paths, subways, traffic islands and safe turning lanes.
Meanwhile, Pimpri-Chinchwad Police will take action against unauthorised roadside parking. Manufacturing companies in the industrial zone have been asked to provide dedicated parking or halting areas for their own vehicles and those operated by transport vendors.
The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation will shift electric poles and overhead wires along the roads after illegal encroachments are removed.
