Hinjewadi Accident: Speeding Motorcycle Hits Barrier in Hinjawadi, Two Riders Die

Hinjewadi, Pune: Two young men were killed in a tragic Hinjawadi accident after their motorcycle crashed into a cement roadside barrier near a metro station in Phase 3 of the IT hub.

The accident took place at around 2:00 am on Sunday near the Metro Station close to DLF Circle. According to police, the motorcycle was travelling at high speed when the rider lost control of the vehicle.

The bike then crashed into a cement barrier along the roadside. The impact was severe and caused critical injuries to both occupants.

The victims have been identified as Rishikesh Potdukhe (26), a resident of Kasar Experia Society in Wakad and originally from Amravati, and Akshay Kavre (23), who was travelling as a pillion rider.

Police said Akshay suffered serious head and body injuries due to the force of the collision. Rishikesh also sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The motorcycle was badly damaged.

The complaint in the case was filed by Police Constable Hansraj Gore of Hinjawadi Police Station. Based on preliminary findings, investigators believe the rider lost control before the vehicle hit the barrier.

After receiving information about the incident, police teams rushed to the spot and shifted both victims to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared them dead before treatment could begin.

The accident caused temporary traffic disruption in the area as emergency teams cleared the damaged motorcycle and completed initial investigations.

A case has been registered by Hinjawadi Police, and further inquiries are underway. Officials are working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the fatal crash.

The incident has once again highlighted concerns over road safety and speeding during late-night hours on roads around Hinjawadi and nearby areas.
