Hinjewadi: Three Ugandan women have been detained in Marunji, within the Hinjawadi police station limits in Pimpri-Chinchwad, for allegedly staying in India after their visas expired. The Foreigners Registration Department of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police has initiated the process to deport the three women to Uganda.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Dheeraj Patil of the Special Branch said the police received information that some foreign nationals were allegedly staying illegally in a housing society in Marunji.
Acting on the information, a police team led under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Vijay Waghmare raided a flat in the society. Three foreign women were found at the location.
They were identified as Dorek Ahaisabwe, Prosy Ankunda and Amina Katusime, all Ugandan nationals.

During verification, the police found that Dorek had entered India on a student visa, while Prosy and Amina had arrived on medical visas. However, all three visas had expired, and the women were allegedly staying in the country without obtaining extensions.
The police have taken them into custody and started the necessary deportation procedure.

DCP Dheeraj Patil also reminded property owners and accommodation providers that anyone offering a house, flat or hotel room to a foreign national must submit a C-Form within 24 hours and provide the required details to the authorities.
He warned that legal action could be taken against those who fail to comply with the rules.
