Hinjewadi Traffic: IT Engineer’s Ganpati Decoration Tells a Painful Story of Losing His Mother

Pune’s Hinjewadi is known as a major IT hub, with large companies and modern office buildings. But once employees step onto the roads, they often face heavy traffic and poor road conditions.

This everyday problem has now been highlighted in a unique way by Ravi Chauhan, an IT engineer working in Hinjewadi. Through his home Ganpati decoration, he has recreated the area’s traffic situation while also sharing a deeply personal experience.

On January 1, 2026, Ravi Chauhan’s mother suddenly became unwell. An ambulance was called to take her to the hospital, but it reportedly got stuck in traffic. By the time she reached the hospital, she could not be saved.

According to the report, she had suffered a heart attack and the ambulance was stuck in traffic just a few minutes away from the hospital. The incident left Chauhan with a painful memory that he has now tried to convey through his Ganpati decoration.

The Ganpati decoration recreates a busy Pune road in remarkable detail. Vehicles can be seen stuck in traffic, along with traffic police, traffic wardens, autorickshaws and pedestrians.

An ambulance with its siren on is also shown trapped among the vehicles. The setup includes roads, an underpass and vehicles moving through it, making the entire scene look almost like a real traffic junction.

The decoration also features mice dressed as traffic police personnel managing the vehicles, while a traffic warden is shown carrying out his duties.

However, the ambulance is the central part of the display. It represents the experience of a family that, according to Chauhan’s account, lost a loved one after an ambulance was delayed in traffic.

For Chauhan, the decoration is not just a Ganpati display. It is a way of turning his personal loss into a larger public issue.

Hinjewadi has grown rapidly into one of Pune’s biggest IT hubs, but traffic congestion and road infrastructure remain major concerns for employees and residents. Thousands of people travel through the area every day.

Through his Ganpati setup, Chauhan has attempted to draw attention to the impact that Hinjewadi traffic can have on people’s daily lives — and, in his case, on an emergency involving his mother.
