Hinjawadi Businessman Receives Death Threat Over Construction Supply Contract

A businessman in Pune’s Hinjawadi IT Park was allegedly threatened and asked to pay Rs 1 lakh after refusing to give a construction material supply contract to a group of men.

The incident took place on Monday around 1:30 pm. Following the complaint, Hinjawadi police arrested four accused in connection with the case.

The arrested accused have been identified as Dattatray Arjun Thakar, Chetan Ovhal, Sushant Bhalekar and Sandeep Deshbhratar.

According to police, the accused arrived at the complainant’s office in a car and allegedly entered his cabin without permission.

Police said the accused questioned the businessman over not assigning them the work of supplying materials for a construction site. They allegedly claimed they had suffered financial losses because of his decision.

The accused reportedly abused the businessman and demanded Rs 1 lakh immediately. They also allegedly threatened to kill him using a weapon kept inside their vehicle if he refused to pay the money.

A case has been registered at Hinjawadi Police Station and further investigation is currently underway.
