Pune police have seized 249 grams of mephedrone (MD) in Hinjawadi and arrested two men in connection with an alleged drug trafficking case. The seized drugs, a car and two mobile phones are collectively valued at ₹13.45 lakh.

The first accused, Premendra Singh, 31, is a resident of Khudala Phalna in Rajasthan’s Pali district. The investigation subsequently led police to Dinesh Kumar Magaram Chaudhary, 28, originally from the same area and currently residing in Raviwar Peth, Pune. He was also arrested.

According to police, the Hinjawadi police investigation team received information on October 8 that a man would arrive near Vinode Corner to sell MD drugs. Acting on the tip-off, officers laid a trap and monitored the area.

When Singh arrived in a car, police detained him and searched the vehicle. They allegedly found MD drugs worth ₹12.45 lakh, which were seized along with the vehicle and two mobile phones.
Further investigation led police to the second suspect in Raviwar Peth, Pune, where another arrest was made.

A case has been registered at Hinjawadi Police Station under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police are investigating the case to establish further details about the alleged drug supply network.

The operation was carried out by a team led by senior police officials, including Senior Police Inspector Balaji Pandhare and Police Inspector Siddharam Mhatre, under the guidance of senior officers in Pimpri-Chinchwad.
