According to police, the operation was carried out based on specific intelligence inputs. Officers received information that the suspect would arrive in the area to sell opium products. During the search, officials recovered a large quantity of opium husk powder and opium pods from the accused. Police said the total weight of the seized material was nearly 10 kilograms.
During the preliminary investigation, police found that the opium husk was allegedly consumed by mixing it with cigarettes or adding it to tea and coffee. Officials believe this method can produce a quicker intoxicating effect and may be gaining popularity among young users.
Police also suspect that such narcotic substances could be reaching youngsters working in the IT sector, making the case a matter of serious concern.
