Pune’s Young Star: Hinjawadi Boy Wins Gold at National Gymnastics Trampoline Championship

Hinjewadi, Pune: Hinjawadi’s young talent, Nakul Karekar, has brought glory to Maharashtra by winning the Gold Medal in the Under-12 category of the National Gymnastics Trampoline Championship, held in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, from August 8 to 10.

Facing stiff competition from some of the best young gymnasts across India, Nakul delivered a stellar performance that secured him the top spot on the podium. His victory marks a significant milestone in his budding career and sets his sights on an even bigger stage — the upcoming World Championships.

Currently training under the mentorship of Coach Shrikant Rathod at Shree Sports Academy in Hinjawadi, Nakul is known for his discipline, dedication, and relentless practice sessions. His journey has already made him an inspiration for many aspiring gymnasts in the region.

Speaking about his achievement, Nakul said, “This medal is the result of years of hard work and my coach’s constant support. I’m now focused on preparing for the World Championships and making my country proud.”

His parents, Bhavesh and Meghana Karekar, expressed immense pride in their son’s accomplishment. “Nakul’s success is a reminder that with passion, discipline, and the right guidance, dreams do come true,” said Mr. Karekar.

The win has been widely celebrated by the residents of Hinjawadi and the local sports community, with many extending their best wishes for Nakul’s future competitions.
